July 11, 2006: Eat, Read, Listen to Music and Love

Hello, bonjour!

Just a short entry to say that while I talk about St. James' Cathedral here all the time, I have never posted any links for it...so here is a nice one showing off the purple tulips they have around the front in the spring. If only they had sound files! Oh well, here's a page on the bells......

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert is a good book; exactly the kind of book I'm happy to read but just as happy to return to the library when I'm done. It makes me want to learn Italian, but I think I will pass on the rest...I did take a look at the new book of Plath essays and they are all good but because it's an 'authoritative' book/publisher I feel more obliged to read it than compelled; oh well, I can wait...(if anyone out there has read any literary criticism lately worth reading, please let me know!)

My guy now has Twice Removed! Oh, he likes it, and I am so relieved - I've been listening to it (and the next album...) and Pavement in a 'Hey, remember the mid-90s? They weren't all that bad, now, were they?' sort-of happy regression. Not that I want to have my wisdom teeth out again so I can have strong painkillers afterwards and feel like I'm floating while listening to Wowee Zowee, but oh, it was nice...I am just as happy to listen to it now and float on the music instead...
