July 18, 2006: Go Ahead, London pt. deux

Hello, bonjour! It's been hot here (and elsewhere) and I hope wherever you are it is cooler and will rain soon; it's supposed to rain again here on Thursday (when thankfully I can stay in) and Friday...there was a big storm here last night that cleaned the air, not just because of the rain but also the high winds that caused outages all over the city, but up where I live ("the heath" as my mom calls it) it was all windy for a while, then rainy, but the storm mostly passed by, distant lightning, distant thunder...

So now I am downtown until Saturday morning and am eager for the time to pass as my guy sent me a letter and I know it will be there when I return...slowly but surely I am getting ready for my trip to London. If I can go by my dreams, my unconscious is getting ready too, so that's good. I still have to get clothes (well, more clothes) and figure out how much money to take and so on...the exchange rate is lousy as usual, of course...

When I first went to London, I thought, oh, I'm going to bump into Green for sure! Um...

Yes, that's true, and their (or should I say, his?) album is up for the Mercury Music Prize...not Girls Aloud, not Saint Etienne, not freakin' Kate Bush...I'm sure this list has something for everyone, but, uh, where are the girls/women? Huh...
