August 14, 2006: Resonating

Hello, bonjour!

It is a cloudy and relatively cool morning here; and in a week I will be on a plane, bound for London (Gatwick) (not Heathrow, which still seems messed up) and environs. This morning I went to the government office on St. Clair E. to get my PR card; went in the elevator with some people who were very dressed up - at 8am I had no idea why - only to figure out that they were going to actually become citizens, unlike myself, who had to just wait ('on the yellow triangle') to talk with Jaime, the official, who assured me I would be very safe on my trip.

But of course.

It's funny, but I feel that destiny has had her hand on my back (as The Tick so memorably says) for some time now and I am in a serene bubble of love; as serene as transatlantic travel allows, in any case. Love, Amor, is my co-pilot; now I just have to pack, go to the bank, travel, travel...hurry up and wait. Luckily this week I have to work and that will occupy me, and also luckily I am pretty sure of what I'm going to do, more or less; Brighton, Oxford, London itself in the main. I am co-hosting a radio show on Resonance fm on Thursday the 24th, 7-8 pm - not sure how you can hear me online, but will figure that out so you can listen if you like...

But for now: helping my mom out at Ryerson, having some kind of lunch, going home for more English tutoring, food, rest. A busy day, a happy day, as the PR card was my last hurdle, and I don't feel in doubt any more about going anywhere or doing anything...
