| September 25, 2006: Pounding Away Hello, bonjour... Well now, where to start... I have a dentist's appointment for Thursday afternoon; yet another tooth has died on me, falling apart on Saturday night as I was reading Inside Out by Nick Mason. I got to the dental emergency place on Sunday afternoon (oddly enough, after I was done, it was empty - so if you're ever in Toronto, have your dental freakout around noon on Sunday and you won't have to wait long at all). Now I am taking antibiotics, the odd painkiller and waiting and eating tiny bites of cheese, potato, bagel and smashing my pills up and having them with ice cream, as usual. Better Things: The new Sloan album is brilliant, as is the first 13th Floor Elevators album (the explanation of the purpose of the album and other notes are great - I seem to have a copy made in Italy, which also pleases me). I bought myself a new notebook in anticipation of working on a new essay - it looks like an old school (quite literally) notebook - black and white, bound, with a neat rectangle for me to write in on the cover... UC is getting the many, many tables for the sale today, and as soon as they are set up, in come the students bearing boxes - I'm too tired to go up today, but I hope to go up tomorrow and check things out. I also hope to go to the Vic Sale on Friday night, if possible, to look at their cookbook section... It's Standing Man's birthday - yep, same as Glenn Gould. I think all they have in common is a love of music and general cuteness - unless Gould was crazy about trains was a 2-year-old. I saw a Good Eats episode on cobblers last night (in the UK they are called crumbles) and I want to learn to make them - they look easy enough. I just have to wait until I can eat on both sides of my mouth, and I will try one out...peach, probably... It's brilliantly sunny today, and I hope to get lots of sleep, or as much as I can, having to take my antibiotics once every four hours... And oh, my Marcello, he is so sweet, sweeter and better than any cobbler...when I get better I want to work hard and then visit him and oh, how good that will be...but for now, rest!
